Know What You Put in Your Body
We at Blood Sugar Health Magazine are very happy to see you’re continuing down the road to better blood sugar and an all-together healthier lifestyle. We have found it best to begin this journey by addressing the foods that are actually dangerous for you to consume. We’re not talking about toxicity per se, but foods you should eliminate from your diet entirely because they work against everything good you may be doing to improve your blood sugar health. Listing the foods that have to go will give you a balanced view of what exactly is healthy, and what is not. Today we want to alert you to some foods that are actually dangerous to your long-term health, and ideally you should no longer consume in support of your body's push to better blood sugar. Some of these dangerous foods you must eliminate from your diet include:
- High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)
- Refined Carbohydrates (contained in Processed Foods)
- White Sugar
- White Flour
- Artificial Sweeteners
HFCS is a man-made, highly processed, refined sugar that has little to no redeeming value once consumed. It is a fast-acting sugar that literally gets “dumped” into your bloodstream all at once, which serves to overload your metabolism. It will cause your glucose levels to spike when consumed as sure as if you took it intravenously, which will ultimately result in insulin resistance.
Avoiding HFCS is as simple as reading the labels on your foods you toss into the cart. High Fructose Corn Syrup is nothing more than empty calories, which speeds up the cellular aging process, and with increased insulin resistance will shoot your sugar through the roof.According to many medical professionals, the main reason so many folks need insulin is because they continue to consume foods and beverages high on the Glycemic Index. Research at Harvard Medical School and Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston showed a correlation between women who drank one sugary drink each day, and an elevated risk of developing diabetes by 200%!
So please, put an end to the sodas and sugary drinks, along with the processed foods sooner than later, if not immediately. This is a first important step to a healthier life, and it will quickly make an improvement difference in your glucose metabolism.
Blood Sugar Health Tip #1:
Action Step: Eliminate High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) from your diet IMMEDIATELY, if not sooner. Keep this top of mind: if you do not put fast-acting sugars (like HFCS) into your body, your metabolism will not be overloaded with more sugar than it can process efficiently.
In the next issue of Blood Sugar Health Magazine we’re going to focus on [CAUSE]. The Standard American Diet, or S.A.D., and it is sad how the S.A.D. is quickly making Americans (and others who consume this diet) the fattest people on the planet. So until next time… Stay Healthy!
